Summer ROCKS 2025 was an exciting and enriching 8-week, full-time program that ran Monday to Friday, bringing together 56 children and youth for a summer filled with creativity, connection, and growth. With participants from our community and surrounding neighbourhoods, the program offered diverse activities that supported academic success, social development, and community engagement.
Thanks to Canada Summer Jobs, we were able to hire three full-time staff, whose leadership helped us run consistent, high-quality daily programming. We were also grateful for our continued partnership with NorQuest College, whose eight practicum students played a vital role in facilitating activities, supporting participants, and helping the program run smoothly.
With generous support from Reach Edmonton’s OST funding, we were able to deliver a broad range of intercultural, educational, recreational, and intergenerational activities. From field trips and tutoring to sports, e-sports, creative arts, and community events, Summer ROCKS 2025 was filled with moments of joy, learning, and transformation.
A major highlight this year was our continued collaboration with the Edmonton Public Library through their EPL ROCKS program. Delivered weekly, EPL staff brought engaging STEAM-based workshops directly to our youth, helping them explore coding, design, engineering, and creative problem-solving through hands-on learning.
